This place does a decent meal and a cold beer and is set in a magnificent location but the amenities are ready to fall down. Both gender toilet/shower units were filthy and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Bear in mind this is …
Good place and scenery. Motel rooms are not as expected. Sheets don't looks like they are washed. Water smells too funny could not shower. Thanks to Wi-Fi in restaurants area.
Just a quick stop for fuel and food. Diesel was very expensive, and the food selection was not great. It is a long way from a supply depot, so I understand why this is. The Victoria River area is magnificent, and if you have to stop or stay here, I'm sure it would be adequate.
Oh where to start.
Emailed and booked a room online, email was received and person was easy to deal with.
On arrival was told we would be staying in the hotel rooms due to size of our group, which cost 160 per the night. Iv slepts in shearers quarters on regional stations in nsq,qld and s.a in better condition. When asking for direction to the room the back packer looked at me like I had taken his soul out and jumped on it, finally he gave me directions to the dongas located at the back of the property. Arriving to the room, I found the aircon turned off and the room in a state like it hasn't been used in months. From cochroached, flying ants, silverfish, cob webs, spiders dead geckos all over the floor, even located a gecko in the fridge. On further inspection the bathroom was filthy the drain for the shower had someone's hair ball growing out of it and was stained orange from the ball water and lack of cleaning. After settling in and went to bed I was woken by my youngest in Tears as a spring from the mattress had sliced her leg open as it was protruding from the bed sheets.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, stay at timber Creek or send it through to Katherine.
I am grateful for the stopover.
This must have been the place to be once, as you can see there was quality in the building structure & the natural surrounds are beautiful.
Sadly, the amenities block has been left to fall apart & appear not to be well maintained. Give it a blast with a power pressure gurnie & with some fix up of walls, tiles etc things would be looking up.
Excellent!! Originally booked 2 nights, then stayed for 4 nights.
Took a helicopter flight over Gregory National Park ☺️ Highly recommend!!!
People complain about toilet block but this is a 'public toilet' owned by council and obviously council do not maintain it as well as it should be. NO FAULT OF THE ROADHOUSE. The management and staff were extremely helpful and very accommodating. Beautiful veiws of the escarpments. Roadhouse offers well priced meals and free wifi.
Short stroll to the river to do some fishing 🐟🐟and croc spotting 🐊🐊🐊 Delightful breezes. Plenty of wildlife🦘🐃🦅
Highly rate 👌 💯
Nice camp spot with power & water. Some sites very shady & a little uneven, but peaceful. Spent 2 nights there to do the walks around the area
The roadhouse has decent prices for being a place in the middle of nowhere, the food was also very good. The roadhouse has guest wifi and a bar along with a pool table.
The campgrounds cost $25 for unpowered and you have free range of where you want to set up camp. They have no camp kitchen but do have drinking water easily accessible. The amenities (toilets and showers) were clean but not really well maintained (missing tiles etc). They have only one washing machine which is $4 per wash.
